Stumbled upon this quote written on my lovely tea bag this morning: “you can run after satisfaction but satisfaction must come from within.” It got me thinking about the place I was at when I wrote this song “Unsatisfied” off my first album. So true that satisfaction must come from within and what a process it is to get there! Boy oh boy especially for us crazy seekers. Still workin on it but aren’t we all…

I should really wait to get this mastered before I post this song but I got a beautiful email from an old high school friend today that really touched me so I would like to dedicate this song to Megan Johnson and her husband who is getting deployed for the 2nd time. Much love and respect to you both!
Thank you to everyone for their wonderful contributions towards recording the song!

Just added 2 new LIVE & FREE songs from my last performance in Boston @ one of my all time favorite venues, Acton Jazz Cafe. Hoping to record these in the studio soon so let me know what you think! Hope you enjoy.
Special thanks to Dani Felt at Creative Spotlights for featuring me on their website! This is a great website for independent artists, check out the interview where I was asked some really important and tough questions!
Still
He takes my hand and tells me all the words
I want to hear from you. I let my hand
slip from a touch that’s never stopped my pulse
like yours. He tries again, and so do I,
waiting to escape, trying to fake, I’m
not void of the emotions that you once
reminded me I had. I wish that I
could be set free; but I’m still tangled in
what I once thought was unconditional.

I took my first Poetry class at Berklee with an amazing amazing teacher,
Pat Pattison. I thought that there would be a lot of parrallels between writing lyrics and poetry but what I learned most from this class was about structure and composition. He told us that poetry is a film score and we talked a lot about stresses and placements of words. I have always loved words and sounds but what’s even more amazing to me is how the placement and composition of words can completely alter an emotion.
Live clips from the Acton Jazz Cafe! Special thanks to my awesome band that I’m already missing: Tom Kain, Mark Hadley, Mike Ball, Ben Marino, Jon Kerr for recording, Ricky Gonzalez for videoing, the Acton Jazz Cafe for having us, and to all that came out!
I hope you enjoy. Check out www.rachelborovik for more music! New recorded songs on the way soon, I promise!
