Stumbled upon this quote written on my lovely tea bag this morning: “you can run after satisfaction but satisfaction must come from within.”  It got me thinking about the place I was at when I wrote this song “Unsatisfied”  off my first album.  So true that satisfaction must come from within and what a process it is to get there!  Boy oh boy especially for us crazy seekers.  Still workin on it but aren’t we all…

I should really wait to get this mastered before I post this song but I got a beautiful email from an old high school friend today that really touched me so I would like to dedicate this song to Megan Johnson and her husband who is getting deployed for the 2nd time. Much love and respect to you both!

I took my first Poetry class at Berklee with an amazing amazing teacher,
Pat Pattison. I thought that there would be a lot of parrallels between writing lyrics and poetry but what I learned most from this class was about structure and composition.  He told us that poetry is a film score and we talked a lot about stresses and placements of words. I have always loved words and sounds but what’s even more amazing to me is how the placement and composition of words can completely alter an emotion.
